Failed snipe - password problem? | Wed Aug 20, 2014 01:11 PM | | |

I have just lost an auction - the Snipe Status reports:
Refused login (password problems?)
This is not the first time that this has happened.
Investigating my various passwords, I notice that my eBay password has 12 characters (a mix of upper & lower case letters and numbers). My password as filled in automatically at the top of this myibay forums page has 10 characters. The myibidder Settings panel shows 14 characters. I assume the mibay and myibidder are the same thing? I have not changed my eBay password recently.
Please could you tell me why my myibay password is different from my myibidder password, and why they are both different from my eBay password?
What steps can you take to correct this situation?
Regards,
David Cochrane

The forum login has nothing to do with your eBay account.
The sniper needs your eBay login information to be able to bid and access your Watch List.
If you changed your eBay password, you must relogin into the sniper using your updated login information to keep it in sync.

I lost a bunch of items just now. I received the issue :
EBay requires verification code.
One example 151382662523
Winning bid $23 by bid $43
I won items yesterday, and other day for the past two weeks. I have not changed my password on eBay for months (since we were required to).
No idea why the bids did not go through.
Thank you.

This app has worked successfully in the past, but today I just lost an auction I should have won easily.
Exactly the same thing that happened to Aaron.
Did something break in the app?
Did eBay start blocking snipes?
What's happening?
Thanks

Just had more items end that I was sniping. Same thing happened again.
If I did not bid enough it shows you were outbid, or out sniped like normal. But when my bids are much higher (and way past the incremental minimum raise for bid), I still lost. It gives that same issue stated above. I bid much higher on 12 items and they should have received my bid.
I think something is not working correctly. Again it has worked pretty much every day for two weeks or so. I have also not changed my password, and everything on eBay is working the same. It worked correctly last night this same time.

Meant to say it has worked, and I was using it pretty much every day for two weeks.
Something came off the rails today / tonight.
Thank you.

eBay usually does not provide on why they ask for verification steps.
Most of the time this is related to the password, so changing your password to something else usually helps.
You have to relogin into the sniper using your updated information after you changed your eBay password to keep it in sync.

I went into eBay without changing my password and it lets me bid normally there. eBay is just blocking / stopping my bids through this site.
It is strange as I had changed my password several months ago with no problem. This site has worked everyday for about 2-3 weeks, but now it does not.
Does this happen a lot, where you are blocked and have to change your password?

Aaron,
This is rare. Another password change usually helps.
Can you access your Watch List? If yes, then eBay may allow you now.

Same thing happened to me today. Lost auction due to: Refused login (password problem?)so I logged out and in to both to make sure that neither password had changed.
I cna tell you the only difference this time was that I sniped from the eBay auction page for the 1st time. Had always used myibay website in the past.

It seems like there is an issue on eBay when they started to ask verification code for many accounts.
Some eBay pages do not work right now, so it looks like they are working on it to get it fixed.
eBay is usually quick on those kinds of issues (usually a matter of minutes), so I hope it will be resolved soon.

Same problems here, and 3 days in a row for now. Many lost auctions for the first day, less - for the second day.
Last day:
On the first eBay account I got 15 auctions, and 14 bids was placed by Myibidder correctly, but for one auction I got "Refused login (password problem?)".
On the second account - the same situation: 15 auctions, and 14 bids was placed by Myibidder correctly, but for one auction I got "Refused login (password problem?)".
I agree that this is eBay who changes something on its side. Now I'm doing login/logout and importing watch list every evening, but still getting "Refused login (password problem?)" on some auctions, unfortunately.

As I mentioned above, there was an issue on eBay's side which caused that.
I have no control over it.
The only thing I can say is that eBay is usually quick on that and such issues are handled quickly and properly.
I see it's back to normal as of now.

I am FURIOUS!
My four snipes today also failed, seemingly due to verification/password problems. WHY HAS THIS SUDENLY STARTED HAPPENING TO SO MANY PEOPLE, SO OFTEN???
I am fed up with you telling us it is Ebay's fault and that everything is okay now. The EXACT same thing happened to me yesterday.
You keep fobbing telling me/all of us off, by saying it's Ebay's fault and now all remedied.....when plainly it isn't!!
I shall swap to another sniper service if this is not remedied promptly.
Do we get PROPER answers as to what is happening?

I've just had ANOTHER failed snipe!!
This is despite myibidder Support emailing me about 40 mins ago to tell me (yet again, yawn) that the problem has now been fixed...and that it was all Ebay's fault not theirs.
We keep being told the same excuse for these log in/password/verification errors on our snipes, which are happening all the time recently. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE DEAL WITH THIS PROPERLY NOW?!!!
