Hi, there.
I have on one recent occasion set the sniper to bid for me (well in advance of the item going off- about two days before), and then found an identical item with a buy-it-now price less than the original item.
I subsequently went back to the sniper to reduce the bid to BLANK, but after buying the BIN item (and a little more time passing) found that I had TWO identical items to pay for.
It seems to me that there should be some facility for withdrawing a bid on / interest in an item, on the window which pops up. Is it already there, and I just don't know how to work it?? And if it isn't there, maybe consideration needs to be given to adding such a facility, otherwise a SNIPE is an irrevocable bid.
Thank you for your time
Alli

I have a similar problem I won an item and now I can't figure out how to remove a similar item. I cannot find the delete function after I log into my a/c.
There are four buttons in upper right corner but there are no explanations as to what they do.

I also tried to cancel a bid by unchecking the "scheduled" box and deleting the bid, but it entered my bid anyway, and now I am having to pay for two identical items. How can I really cancel a bid?

It was a few hours before the end and the item number is 280312283083. I have gone ahead and paid for this, but I need to know for sure how to cancel a bid so this won't happen in the future.

Canceling/De-activating Bids | Mon Jun 15, 2009 04:23 PM | | |

Excellent, now it makes sense. I was confused also, I thought you meant to delete the item from the original ebay site on the my watchlist in my summary page as I have ibay as a firefox add-on which I used to create a snipe. This is why I assumed it was also through the add-on I can delete it.
In my humble opinion, it helps if you put the link of https://www.myibay.com in your FAQs when you state how to delete the item from the ibay list or deactivate the item.
------------------------------------------------------------------
How to Cancel/De-activate Ibay Snipe Bids:
(1) Log into the ibay site using your ebay id + password
Site: https://www.myibay.com
Deleting Snipe Item:
(2) Checkbox the item on the mainpage and click big blue 'x' bottom of list to delete the item.
OR
Deactivating Snipe Item:
(3) Click the blue 'snipe' box located on the immediate right of the item description.
(4) Locate 'Activate snipe checkbox' found in the purple shaded area.
(5) Untick 'Activate snipe checkbox' to deactive/cancel bid which you confirm by clicking the blue 'Change' button immediately below.[/b]
Hopefully this helps others. Those at ibay, thank you so much for this application, it's well appreciated.

an,
I agree, that's a good idea to add it to FAQ list.
We are in the process of re-designing and re-writing FAQ so that will be added too.
Thanks a lot for your opinion.
