I use the myibidder extension in Google Chrome v15.0.874.121. I recently set my snipe to go off at 3 seconds before the end of an auction (Item ID: 120824219145). I'm not 100% sure what happened, but I didn't end up with the winning bid. The highest bidder placed their bid before mine, according to the time stamp, yet their bid was one increment higher than mine. In this case, was it due to their maximum bid being set higher than mine? There were 5 bidders and 5 bids, so I don't know where that last bid came from unless another party was sniping too. Would I have won if I had set my snipe to go off at 1 sec?

Also, in the FAQ, it says that if the snipe is higher than the current bid, you will pay one increment higher than the previous bid. In my last few snipes, myibidder placed my maximum bid straight away, and not one increment higher than the previous bid. Is there something I'm missing? Could someone please explain the process a little better for me?

The way eBay works is the highest bidder wins. That's why you lost -- someone else bid higher.
You see your maximum bid in the history for the same reason -- somebody else bid higher and exposed your maximum bid. If nobody else would bid, you would pay just one increment higher.

In a previous auction (the item ID isn't available anymore), I was the only bidder, and there were definitely no other bids. My maximum bid was placed, and that's how much I was invoiced for, until the seller finally agreed on something in between, which was still a lot higher than the starting bid.
That wasn't the first time my maximum bid was placed, and I could not see any other bids close to my maximum in the bidding history after the end of the auction.

Not sure why you say it's not available if you won it. It should be in your "Purchase History" on your account.

If you see your maximum, then the listing had a reserve and your bid was equal or higher than the reserve.

Can the reserve be seen after the end of the auction?

Usually yes.
You don't have to login to see won items, just do a search by Bidder.
