I've been successfully using myibay for the past month or so. And, up until now, it's worked wonderfully. However, I noticed that the last two sniping bids that I placed through myibay weren't submitted. After placing the bid, it shows the bid amount and time was, indeed, entered. However, after the auction had ended, it appears as though I never placed the bid!
Is there an explanation for this? And, are there any suggestions as to how I may remedy this problem?
I really love this feature... and, I'd like to get it back to where it works "reliably" again.
Thanks,
Irma P
P.S. I got this myibay sniping feature free through Google Chrome Extensions. And, I'm just wondering if this is, by any chance, one of those features that are initially "free" on some sort of a trial basis... then, later one is required to pay or... "make a donation?"

You did not include any reference information such as item numbers or your eBay user id so I could only guess that you did not meet eBay's or seller's requirements.
Sniping does not guarantee winning, you have to meet all those requirements.
You can always check the "My Status" field of the snipe for the exact reason.

Thanks for your quick reply.
I actually hadn't done anything differently during the snipping process with the failed snipes than what I had done with past (successful) snipes. So, I'm at a loss in understanding why it didn't work. Anyhow, I just deleted the sniper... then, I re-downloaded it... placed a bid; and, it worked!

You could always check your past snipes to see what happened. Just login to your account and check the "My Status" field (the Windows application has that field inn the Snipe window on the bottom).
What you did different is you sniped different items. Each listing can have its own requirements and such. You have to be the highest in order to win, you must meet seller's requirements if there is any.

Okay, I logged into my account and the item that I attempted to snipe (yet failed to win) is, in fact, listed. However, the status doesn't indicate anything! Therefore, I neither won nor lost the auction. I might add that, for this particular item, there was no other bidder than myself... yet, my bid did not "go through." Oh well, perhaps that item wasn't meant for me! The important thing is that myibay bidder seems to be functioning properly... for now. Hopefully, what I encountered was merely a temporary glitch.
Thanks again for your insights and support,
Irma

Sveiks Sashka! ;)
I do also have a kinda similar problem to this.
If I place the bid (tested and proved)within an hour before the auction ends it does not snipe. I just checked the FAQ as an interest for the timing (it said 3 mins, that is why I am asking.
U can check with the account - same as for the post.
Ebay Item ID: 290629469629
Status says of course -> bidding has ended.
It has happened several times more, but I am not keeping any records.
Appreciate any useful comment and suggestion.

Irma P,
You still did not provide any reference information so I can't tell you exactly what happened. You probably did not meet seller's or eBay's requirements.

parsla123,
That's been almost a month ago. I don't have such an old history record for the snipe.
I could only guess that eBay was too slow to respond. I see it was a weekend snipe. Sometimes eBay is very slow on weekends (not always, but they have some slow downs).
The latest stats show that those issues are happening less often now, so eBay is making improvements over that.

You did not specify the snipe amount, it's set to 0.00.

...yet, I typed in the dollar amount when I placed the bid... and , I distinctly remember seeing the amount displayed on the description page of the auction item.
But now, something has me thinking... that possibly, my computer was going through a anti-virus scan during the final moments of the auction, which was when I attempted to place the bid. Often, that update/ scanning process messes up anything that I might be doing on the computer.
Thanks again for your time,
Irma P

Hard to say now. It's possible that your update did not go through due to overall slowness on your PC.
