Hi
My snipe did not place the bid on item ID 160672769645. It already happened on another item some time ago.
The rest of the time it worked fine. What went wrong?

There is a glitch on eBay side when they still show summer time instead of winter time.
I made a change to reflect this eBay's issue. I'm sorry it affected your snipe.
Thanks a lot for reporting it.

Bids are an hour late still!!
I noticed one fail earlier, but then I figured since it crossed the time change it was acceptable and I should have been prepared and expect such. I thought fine I will refresh everything and I'll be good..
NOPE!
I missed a very good deal I'll likely not see again.
I JUST bought the desktop management program, I do hope I don't regret my purchase.

Is this going to be fixed for real any time soon????

It's been updated on my side, but I think it's still not fixed on eBay side.
What's the item number? Did you get correct "Time left" value when refreshed?

I've had the same thing happen with my last 3 snipes. It just doesn't do anything. The time left is accurate, everything seems just fine but when the item ends, nothing has happened. It worked perfectly before, I have used it many times. But I don't know what's wrong now or what to do. (I live in Belgium and snipe on E-bay UK. First I thought it was something with the time changes, but nothing indicates that's the problem.)

Wenz,
You have to include some kind of reference (item number or your eBay user id) if you want me to check.
I'm not sure what do you mean by "does not do anything". You will see you as a winner if you won only. You will not see anything if your bid was refused.
Sniping does not guarantee winning, you have to meet seller's and eBay's requirements.

If you don't want to share the item's information, please feel free to check the reason of your snipe by looking at "My Status" field.

I'm so sorry, I don't have the item ID's anymore, I deleted them from my lists (avid cleaner... sigh). I'll make sure to keep them if it happens again. I know you have to meet seller's and eBay's requirements, I buy all the time, so I am fairly sure that wasn't the problem.

Weird question, I use ebay sidebar for Firefox, and if I open an item from there, the link is different (Like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220792371156&clk_rvr_id=283748325329&mfe=sidebar) Could that be a problem, if I snipe from that page?

Anyway: I just now sniped and it worked like a charm again! No idea what's different (apart from making sure I snipe from ebay directly instead of via the sidebar-link), but I'm thrilled. :)

The sniper has no relation to your Firefox sidebar so it's not related for sure.

Please make sure to check the "My Status" field of your snipe before deleting it to see what happened.

Where do I find this "My Status" feature? Fri Dec 30, 2011 08:47 PM Quote

Last two snipes haven't done so. Latest, was today on auction # 300639928613. I entered my amount of $9.05 and clicked on the ADD button, then the CLOSE button. The winning bid was $8.99. Not sure that I'll try this again as I don't have much faith in it right now.

Here are your statuses for your last two snipes:

140670231967: "Your bid is too low". Your snipe was 154.15, but auction ended at 172.50. You can't win an auction with lower bid, that's how eBay works.

300639928613: "Your snipe was too low due to eBay's bid increment system".
Please check the following FAQ section for more information:
http://www.myibidder.com/login/faq/4/#q14

You don't have to try it again if you don't have much faith in it, but you need to understand that eBay will not accept low bids and you will not win an auction no matter what sniper you use.
Your bids would not be accepted by eBay even if you bid the same amounts manually.

My bad. I'm aware of incremental bidding. Yet, had I bid 9.05 using the manual bidding method and the bidder who eventually won only bid 8.99, then I would have won the auction for 9.05. Of course, the bidder could opt to bid again or have made their initial bid higher than my 9.05 and won. I may be wrong, but I think I've won an auction without meeting that requirement. Yeah, I'm probably mistaken. Thanks for pointing that out.

You can only win it in case if nobody else bid, in this case there is no bid increment (basically, the increment is zero).
If somebody placed a bid, the increment is non-zero and counts from the current bid.

Hint: for my own snipes I usually add not just a few cents, but also 1-2 bid increments on the top of my maximum bid to cover up those situations.

Sasha,

Is there a feature where I can review my sniping history through my browser plug-in?

Yep! The other auction that I was referring to was also one that I didn't ponder the incremental bid. Thanks for the tip and thanks for the product. I've won a couple using it and I realize my mistakes in the ones that I lost (at least the ones that I was close to winning).
