Hi,
I am a long time user of Myibay, but new to this forum, so please forgive me if this has been asked and answer before...
my question is this: if I want to place a bid on an item that is offered in ebay.co.uk, do I have to set ebay country in options->settings to "United Kingdom"? What is the effect of leaving it as "United States" and setting the program to place a bid on an ebay.uk item?
Thank you,
Winnie

You have two options in your Profile section:

My Country field is for changing a default landing page to your country when clicking on auction's link. It does not affect sniping.

My Snipe Target field is for changing a default target site to use to for sniping (i.e where your snipe will be placed). When not sure, leave it to "Auto"

To summarize:
If you need to place your snipes on eBay UK, you just need to set eBay UK in "My Snipe Target".

Thank you, Sashka, for your prompt answer, but I'm afraid we are not talking about the same program:
I am using myibay version 1.0.43 build 498.
There is no profile section, and as a result there are no "My Country" and "My Snipe Target" fields. There is no "My status" field as well.
As I wrote, my question refers to the field "eBay Country" in options->settings->General tab.
Thank you,
Winnie

I see. You made a post into General support instead of Windows application support so it confused me.
The Windows application does not have the option "My Snipe Target", but you can still change it using your Web-based login (login using http://www.myibidder.com/ , click Profile, change it there and click "Save" to save the changes).
The change will affect your Windows application for all your future snipes.

The "eBay Country" is the same as "My Country" and it does not affect the actual sniping process.

The "My Status" field is available in the Snipe window (the window where you set your snipe amount, time, etc) after the snipe is done only.
You may need to do "Refresh from Server" from the File menu if the snipe was done just a few moments ago.

Thanks again, Sashka, for a prompt answer and I apologize for misplacing my query.
Still, I'm not sure that I understand what I have to do in order to bid on a UK item: Is it necessary to visit myibidder?
Can I use the windows application to place a bid on a UK item without visiting myibidder site? are the bidding settings for a US item the same as for a UK item? (again, I'm reffering to the windows application only).

The Windows application does all sniping through the remote server automatically:
http://www.myibidder.com/login/faq/1/#q5

However, the option "My Snipe Target" was added just recently enough so the Windows application does not have it.
Also, the Windows application will respect all future setting changes set by you on the server.
That means if you set the option on the server, the Windows application will use it automatically.

The answer is: yes, you have to visit the http://www.myibidder.com/ to change this option once at least.
After changed, you don't have to go to the Web site again.

So, what do I do if I want to bid on 2 auctions, one is a US auction and the other is a UK auction?

This setting is global so you'll have to either change it after one snipe is done, or snipe it under a different account.

Myibidder (Myibay) account is the same as eBay account.
