Max Second for bidding? Thu Apr 29, 2010 03:55 AM Quote

I'm just wondering what the max time you can set for the bidding to go. I bid on a bunch of items that have no bids and I always want to put the first bid in. It's sort of a pain having to manually do it and then also adding the snipe.

I tried putting 25000-99999 seconds for stuff that ends in a few hours with 0 bids and it didn't put the bid.

Thanks for you help.

You can put any time.
If you don't see your bid, you probably put it too far in the past. Your snipe must be active at least 3 minutes before it should fire.

What I'm trying to do is have it bid as soon as I add it. Not sure if my first post was confusing. So I'd have to figure out how many seconds before the auctions end. I see what you're saying.

Is it possible in the future to have a like place first bid option?

If you want to place a bid, put it manually. It's much easier than calculating your time offset.

Ya I bid on hundreds of items a night all $1 and under so it gets tedious. Was trying to make it easier. Do you know of anything that bids right away? What I liked about this software was I could view a sellers whole store and check off which ones I wanted to bid on.

Thanks for all your fast replies :)

I personally don't see a major reason to place those bids.
I place my initial bids for 2 reasons mainly -- restrict the seller from changing the description, and to remove BIN price.
Some buyers also place a manual bid to check if there are any restrictions set by this seller (I don't do it for myself).

When I bid for multiple items, I never place a manual bid. If one item will go away at BIN price, I still have dozens of others.
Sniping is to make buying easier, not for complicating things ;-)
